Plates are 107mm diameter to allow them to fit between the s/s ferrules, the holes are 1/16"(1.59mm) on a 5mm grid,
total of 256 holes per plate.


D.C's will be 3/4" to 1/2" reducers, with a short 1/2" tube in a 3/4" cap.
If I have flooding, I will put larger D.C's in :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'm curious about the 1/2 " down comers.
Everyone's going for 3/4" say'n 1/2 " is too small .

So looking at what your doing ,is it the opening that's more important at 3/4" than the down-comer itself ?

I kinda wanted to rock the boat & give the 1/2" a try.
Mac is running his similar, not sure of the specs :?:
The idea of the bigger opening is that it will help drain the plates, I think having the short 1/2" drain will help as well, I won't know
for sure how it will perform until I fire it up.
One thing I noticed, when I was running with 3/4" J-traps, was the amount of liquid draining from those was about the same as
the output from the still.

The ones I've been making are from a 3/4 x 1/2 reducer through the plate, a short piece of 1/2 as the dropper and a 3/4 cup.

They work like a charm and will give excellent performance :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Here's the underside of a plate, just before cleaning the burs and sticking the cup on the DC.

I'm not cutting those slots anymore, I found 4 x 5mm holes works just as well :handgestures-thumbupleft:
