Fark me. Credit to all the builders out there, a lot of hours goes into building these buggers. I'm not even half way there yet. Now I see why a lot of you guys fork out the cash and get one of Macs stills.

Made some more progress today. I had two tiny leaks in my RC that took me ages to fix, it's a very fine line between not hot enough and to hot when soft soldering. My RC drank a fair bit of solder today I hope it's effecient enough and not blocked up.

Awsome work there mate.
Can I make a suggestion with your basket
When you slot it in, when the collumn is all set up and the blockhead is high up in the air, how do you know 100% that the outlet hole is lined up?
if it's not you have just closed off the outlet.
May be cut the top section down to the outlet level.
Keep up the good work :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cheers Bluc, prob not a bad idea Rum. The reason I didn't do it like that was so I didn't have to reach down to far to remove it, it's only another 80 or so mill I suppose, I reckon it will start to shit me trying to line it up all the time.

You could keep the handle where it is and just cut straight down either side of it. Sort of like a regular basket handle. That way no matter which way around it goes it won't seal up your still but will still be easy to remove

Ok, so I'm making progress. Got everything sealed up and clamped together. Ran into a problem today with my sight glasses. I was hoping to to use screws and two easy flanges to sandwich the sight glass and seal onto the three inch x 4 inch tee, but.... The glass is almost the same size as my easy flange so there is not enough room to drill and tap my screwes in. I might have to purchase some 3 inch clamps. Any ideas fellas ???
I am trying to keep the build cost down so if I can avoid buying clamps that would b nice.
Gonna make up my parrot and make a start on my boiler tomorrow. All that's left is my bubble plates and sight glasses, oh and the worst part if the build POLISHING fml, lol

Problem solved, I'll just use 3/8 inch instead of quarter for the sight glass easy flanges. I bet albert E came up with the A-bom after a few bourbons!!!
