Keg hole size vs still size 4" 3" 2" 1&1/4"

Hi, all I've been looking at proir posts ie viewtopic.php?f=49&t=3656
about the keg outlet hole connection size compared to still size but unsure what is considered ok.
I'll explain why I'm asking.
I have 2 x kegs that have had the ferule welded with a 1&1/4" 32mm bsp connection, so I cannot use triclamps etc as it is.
I was thinking of getting a bsb connection with a triclamp ferule welded to act as an adaptor, but the actual dia inside would be perhaps 1" or under, is this enough to run a 3" vm and be enough for a future 4" setup ?
Otherwise do I cut the whole bloody thing off and use a 4" ferule,( plus a 2" filler port would be nice)?
Do I leave it for a drain port, turn the keg upside down then do the above?
Oh yea the kegs have a drain tap setup allready on the side near the bottom, but I still need to add electric elements, not sure if I will run 2 x 2200/2400/3600 + controler as yet, cause they will also need a connection point drilled/welded as well.
Thanks for any advice and comments are welcome.
