Five Star Distilling, SS modular columns

Postby BackyardBrewer » Fri May 10, 2013 9:19 pm

So is that a packed section on top of three plates with the reflux condenser at the top?

What's in the thumper/what's it do? I'd love a photo up the skirt so I could see what was going on.

It's all just so precise! My beloved bubbler is very organic in comparison. This is surgical blades compared to kitchen knives.

So slick.

The thumper in this one is a huge 3" single bubble cap, adventurous guy could build any plate they liked for it... A double pumper thumper would be awesome with a deep bath on the tray :happy-partydance:

What's it do? well that's a huge write up to explain in detail, but it can hold a lot of distillate & if used properly can help shorten run times.
