Did you need the extra elbow? Could you not have connected the condenser straight onto the one elbow and use that to change the angle or am I missing something? :think:

I'm not a fan of those John Guest ? fittings at all, the braided lines & fittings I use are the nicest cooling lines I've found.

And why would you want plastic shit hanging off an expensive still, IMHO it just makes it look cheap 8-}

I don't mind the look but main reason i went with these was just for conveniance for quick pull down as i won't be leaving still all conected up I have a nosy landloard . since I have them i will give them ago and if there no good i will change.

Pretty easy to whack one in there, could go up to 350mm or 14" if you want..... but I'd have to custom build the thumper plate (and getting me off my arse is real expensive LOL)

200mm shaved off a 6" Neutralizer on a 100L boiler brings it in at 2500mm, so I still need to find another 100mm somewhere & I think it's time to start looking at the boiler.

BTW: the 6" x 4" reducer in the pic is only 120mm long ;-)

Yeah with the tee you're saving height because you don't have the bend over the top like you usually see, it's not usually a drama on a 4 plate still, but when you start adding packed sections and extra tee for the Neutralizer it's getting above normal ceiling height of 2.4m

So, what I'm trying to do is get a big neutral still in a tight area without compromising performance ;-)

If I chop the legs by 100mm the drain will be on the floor :crying-blue:

What about if you used a sharp 90 deg bend on the drain to bring drain closer to boiler that would save a couple of inches.

Mac, instead of the 6" to 4" tee you could use the standard 4" elbow and connect it to a 6" blank modified to take a 4" ferrule.
This would be shorter than the original neutraliser but not sure how it compares in height to the Blockhead.

Do the same to the 4" to 6" boiler connection to reduce height.

6" x 4" reducer in my last pic is only 120mm high, so already saved 100mm there from a standard reducer & now the 4 plate still with a 6" x 3" tee top is 1200mm instead of 1450 of the pacemaker :dance: I could probably shave another 50mm off the 6" x 3" tee too :think:

The boiler drain is easy, I've already got it sorted :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Better still get rid of the bend all together and have the drain pipe cut away to hug the bottom of the boiler :dance:

Just gained an extra 200mm :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance: :happy-partydance:

Now I gotta start doing some more calculations & drawings :crying-blue:

Mac,
I'll keep an eye on any boiler mods. I'm more than happy with my rig. If I upgrade to a 100L FSD boiler I may run out of headroom in the corner of the shed - you know where things aren't seen so easily.
