15amp US plug adapter

Has anyone come across one of these? I bought a 4000w controller to run my 3600w element and of course it has one of those OS outputs.

My element is wired with a 15amp plug so your standard 10amp travel adapter is useless.

My googling is turning up crickets so far.

Perhaps a friendly electrician could wire the correct into it for you.

There are reasons you can’t plug a 15amp appliance into a 10amp plug
Back in the 80’s we used to grind the earth lug down but having grown up I now know we shouldn’t mess with the electrical stuffs

It’s a 15amp controller. The GPO end is 15amp. It’s just that it has a “universal” output and all the travel adapters I’ve seen are 10amp.

my chinese 4000w controller stopped working once.
after opening it, it was fitted with a 6A switch, which had melted.
and 4000w might be it's peak power only.
obv depends on design and components, heatsinks, fans etc but things might get a bit warmish on a full power stripping run with 3600w?

OK sorry I thought you wanted to something else.
Back in the 80's we used to just file down the large earth pin to make things work, could be worth a try.
But, im no electrician.

The active and neutral terminals are the same size in 10a and 15a. the earth pin just makes sure you can't put a 15a into a 10a plug.
If it is 15a device there's no harm in filing the earth to make it fit. It just means it can be used in the wrong plugs now.
But tbh I wouldn't trust running through one of those adapters. I haven't seen a quality made one yet. I feel like you would have issues with it.
If it was me I'd buy the correct Australian version or get an electrician to wire a 15a plug in place of the us plug. New it the correct piece or even the end of an extention cord hanging out.
