Im waiting for a voltage controller from evilbay. I purchased a 3800w version. My question is I want to ad a second element to the keg boiler and was thinking buying 1 from the main man Mac. Im sure I have 15amp plugs in my house but to steer on caution will a 2400w element be ok to be used for the spirit run?

Sorry mate
its just a standard 2inch copper pot still and a 50ltr boiler
I'm not sure of the wattage of the element in the boiler atm as an old work mate made it for me but when I run it I can not have anything else pluged in and on. First time I ran the boiler I had a heater belt switched on and within 2 mins it tripped the house out. I just disconnected the belt, reset the safety switch and the boiler worked a treat.

Timmy ,if you have a multimeter , measure the resistance of the element .( while its unplugged obviously)

If its 16 ohms = 3600w

if its 24 ohms = 2400w

BTW ,I only use 1400 watts on my 2" pot on a Rum spirit run

I will have a mate to test it as I do not have a multimeter.
