Hour glass still

Howdy guys,

Trying to find out a bit more about a still called an hourglass still.




Has anyone used one?
Have any schematics?

Just trying to find out a few more things.

that the one i came up with on a quick google as well.
looks to be an attempt at doing a traditional potstill head for home distillers.

Bet there is a 4" at the bottom and 2" at the rest you should be able to guestimate from those two meassurements.

I'm sure you'll make a better one than pictured on your first try, it looks wonky as.

I know. It looks wonky as, but at the same time romantic.

If only I had the skills to make something like that. Would love to see how it works.

That one was made by HBS copper in the US and they quoted me a complete arm and a leg for it. Not worth the price and curiosity. Just wondering if anyone had made one or used on

thats two things I think off in regards to that builder, expensive and no attention to detail.

for the price of copper and some time you can do it, don't need skills just need to persist, a good flux helps too.

Leveling feet is why it doesnt sit flat. Think the piece on top is an onion, if not technically an onion its there to increase passive reflux.
