FSD Modular Build

Postby MattSmith » Tue Feb 14, 2023 6:07 pm

My FSD gear arrived today (ordered Friday, delivered to Sydney Tuesday morning ^:)^ )

Having never run a still of any description I wasn't quite ready to jump straight into a Neutraliser but I hate burning money on parts I know will be redundant later. After a chat with Andrew earlier in the year I settled on what is basically a Neutraliser without the plates (and with a 3" PC).

The plan is to learn on this and then add plates as the need arises. Just waiting on some camlocks and other plumbing stuff to arrive and then I can take it on a shakedown run.

Hi MattSmith,

Great choice for a foundation to build on, you can go anywhere you like from here! :happy-partydance:

What products are you wanting to dabble in first up?

Cheers

Everything :laughing-rolling:

I've got a critical shortage of vodka and gin at home at the moment so I might have a crack at a neutral first.

A local HBS has molasses for a reasonable price so I'd like to start working on some rum generations too. I've been saving recipes from here for months so I think the rough plan is try and make something drinkable early and then work on things that need a bit of age.

Matt,

I've used TPW, WBAB and recently tried a TFFV for neutral to use as a gin base, best I've tried so far.

Follow Odin's easy Gin recipe to the letter and you will be sorted for that product, I swear by it! I get all my ingredients from Austral Herbs in Kentucky, NSW, can't go wrong!

Cheers

Just lockable caster wheels.

The bloke I bought it off fabbed up a simple X piece and put wheels on it.

I’m not a fan of wheels under a still , seen a large still fall over when a wheel collapsed
