My pot still

Postby casamayor » Sat Mar 02, 2013 7:50 am

Hello,
I post some photos of my pot still, the boiler has a capacity of 35 liters powered by a 3 rings gas burner of 9 kilowatts (0 to 9kw) all equipment is sealed by flour and paper clips, with a mash of 8% ABV the output is 82%ABV and a mean heart at 75% ABV.
On the Boiler there are 2 plates with one bubble cap each, over the whole there is a kind of deplagmator, the glass of the upper plate is made by a Coleman lamp.

That certainly is different!, good name Jason lol. Lots of ingenuity going on there with the cooling system!. I think you just made bt1 wet his pants with the glass bit :laughing-rolling: . Do you just turn the water back to get product?. I really like the look of the bottom tray :handgestures-thumbupleft: . Reminds me of something but can't put my finger on it  it's not a light mounting or something?. Good job mate.

Hello Googe,
The cap of the bottom plate comes from a ladle kitchen utensil :))
Could you give me more explanation "Do you just turn the water back to get product?

I love it :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Is that an air cooled Deflagmator (Reflux condenser) ? Just looking at the fan up the top?
Confused as can see cooling lines there as well

Bet your missus is gonna crack the shits when she goes to cook dinner and the pot cupboards are empty :laughing-rolling:

I bet your missus loves you using the ladle lol, clever idea!. I thought you had to turn the cooling down so you could get product like a normal coolent management still but I see it's just run like a pot still, my bad :handgestures-thumbupleft: .
