Postby benpandaae86 » Sat Dec 06, 2014 7:20 pm

I made this up yesterday to go in the expansion part of my pot still its just some 5/8 & 3/4 copper pipe silver soldered in place offset from each other is this enough copper for the vapour to pass through and do the chemical reaction thing

Someone with better knowledge than me will chime in but thats definitely more copper surface area than a T500 has.

yeah mate good idea, it'll certainly help rather than hinder..... and should create some turbulence, which is also a good thing.

nice one :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You won't get much reflux without a condenser dribbling liquid back through your packing, packing alone doesn't do much, maybe create a little turbulence but not much reflux.

Hopefully you've used cadmium free silver solder. Recently I found out that the silver solder I've been using for years (not on stills) was 42% silver, and 24% cadmium. Now I've got some Cd free stuff.

Cheers

It needed a lil adjustment as i made it to 3" but i only have 2 3" reducers back to back so a lil love from the hammer and it fit real nice

That there is how a boily fixes the problem :teasing-tease: if the little hammer doesn't work, get the big one :))

Edit, spelling
