Upgrading FSD pot

Postby HillsJester » Sat Apr 18, 2015 3:41 pm

Time to work towards my bubbler. Will adding on or two bubbler sections in pot still increase abv of run?
Assume would still need spirit runs but can do it bit by bit. Just wondering if someone has done this?

Adding a couple of plates will increase the quality of the spirit, incrementally... I often use 2 plates for the spirit run on whiskeys and brandies. It is a good start and is the beauty of modular stills.

Hi Doc, is that a strip run and then 2 plates on a spirit run or just 2 plate single run?

BTW i like the videos on You Tube with your scotch :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I always strip, I have never liked single runs maybe except for heavier style rums, I have had some nice single run rums over 4 plates.

if you adding plates I would suggest also adding a dephleg (RC) to make the most of the plates and boost abv

Thanks - watched the vids in my 5 minute morning break, which quickly extended to a 30 minute break.
Nice work Doc!
I don't think I've ever considered selling a motorbike from the collection, but looking at the plates and bubblers, my husky dirt squirted is getting pretty damn nervous... I'm too old for rocket type dirt squirted anyway - right? RIGHT?!?!?
