Rocket fuel! Help

Postby shanco86 » Tue Nov 11, 2014 12:35 pm

iv just bought a 2nd hand stainless reflux still 25L and about a 1m long 2" column. the end product came out around 90% but stunk like the sugar wash and was just like paint stipper (undrinkable).
the temp regulation did fluctuate outside of the 78-82deg C in the top of the column. i tried then running the same product again just with fresh water and made sure it stuck on 78degC, it got rid of the rank smell but was still like rocket fuel there is nothing smooth about it.

Really stuck on this now and would appreciate any help. cheers

pic of still should be attached

Cuts?
Airing and dilution go a long way too.
What sort of wash are you running?
Too many questions but you can answer all of these with a bit of reading. Go to the newby section and have a bit of a look around. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
