Made my first Shottie today seemed pretty easy, alot easier then winding coils like I think it was Zak said before. Going to make my cross flow one next, slowly getting there soon be able to do the cleaning run.

Been thinking of this cross flow condenser a bit and was thinking there would be a fair bit of pooling at the top, what if I put 2 slanted plates just below the condenser tubes marked where the arrows are.

Would love to get some feed back to see what you guys think.

50mm X 360mm .Nice
RE : the slant plates ...Its a yes from me :handgestures-thumbupleft: ...and after seeing how you whipped up that PC , won't be a problem for you

That has to be easier than other centering methods some have used ..IE bent tubes or Vee'd hammerhead.
Then again .unless the still head is on a bad tilt ,its unlikely that major pooling would occur IMO without it

Here it is the new monstrosity hopefully it works ok, it has knock down about 250mm of height nearlt will fit in a 2.4m standard ceil room with the 1.5m packed column.

Should fit if I make the packed section 1.3m.

Hey mate, that's an awesome looking rig! Can't really see in the pic so have to ask, is the condenser open to the atmosphere?

Cheers

Re-reading this thread ...something I should have done more clearly earlier
tjt ....I have to say I'm really fuck'n sorry . I don't know what the fuck I was pressing when I posted this shit ..These figures are wrong and I apologize for giving you the major Bum stair. The 20 x Dia is correct but the figures are not ......as you pointed out later in this thread , the preferred heights are way more practical :angry-banghead: .

Its fine mate, I know I have 63mm OD pipe so at most column length in theory should be 1260mm but im going to run the 1500mm first and then cut it down later, don't know if there is much point but there should be some great prouduct coming out.

Atleast when I cut it down now I will gain 2 things with the crossflow head it's going to fit inside a garage if my next neighbours are so trusting and I will have a piece for a potty.
