Just Love my 3'' VM

Postby Kenster » Thu Dec 22, 2016 6:25 pm

First time running for an extended period of time...cranked her up at 9.00am, still going 10 HOURS later...77.3 DegC ALL DAY LONG, not even a .5 deg change.
Double distilling a TPW at 40%...doing it very slowly...should be a nice clean drop...onto the 11th x 750ml botttle
Just sayin...happy to have the day off.

750ml cuts are ok when you definitely know you're in hearts but you should be taking smaller cuts at the start and as soon as ABV starts dropping. Or preferably just before ABV starts to drop.

Warra I recon 1meter is a little bit short for a 3" VM.
Mine is over 2meters, it was built by a very experienced builder.

Thanks for the info mate but I couldn't fit a 2 meter column in my laundry! With an inline thumper of adjustable capacity I figure I can calculate a rough volume to upgrade the abv to 60-80% feedstock for the column so I'm hoping the 1 meter will be long enough for it.

Warra, yeah bud... painfully slow, but i was kind of trying for a 'good drop', i had heaps of time up my sleeve and not chasing speed...my bad?
The stuff was already run once and was reasonably fine, just wanted to clean it up somewhat...still airing, not sure if it was really worth the effort, just hope so.
