old t500 user back in the game

Been about three years since I have been producing the good stuff. A messy marriage breakup, custody battles etc, usually it drives a guy to drink. Me, the other way round. Sold all my gear, 9 kegs, beer fridge, ss & copper t500s, etc etc. Stopped drinking entirely for around 6 months, got my health and fitness back in order so as to better be able to look after my young kids, and I feel a lot better as a person. (one might question whether it was the fitness and diet or the removal of a certain toxic relationship but hey, I'm not bitter, ) I'm back to a couple of drinks 1-2 times/week. That said, even at that amount, I just can't go back to the shop bought crap.

Down to brass tax (or is it tacks? ), in a 2brm unit, so not a lot of space, and the t500 did serve me well back in the day, even if it was a little slow. Is there any recommendations for a good smooth neutral producing still that won't cause me to part with a left kidney? I'd love to get one of macs stills, but raising two kiddies on your own tend to demand any and all spare income that I have, and then some sometimes! 8-} A good still to start me off again with anyways until I can move to a larger place.

Welcome icewind.

The lack of space is going to limit what gear you'll be able to use.

What kind of spirits are you wanting make?

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Scratch that spirit question, just realised this was posted in the reflux still forum...

Do you have the skills and equipment to do some DIY? If so, you could build a boka. If not, check out the 5 star boka which is fairly competitively priced against the T500 and a lot more robust.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Sorry, I forgot it wasn't shown on the web site. Shoot them an email and ask for some info on it. There will be some photos and info on it floating around here somewhere but I know they put some stuff up on their facebook page about it.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.
