3” reducer bokka

Postby bayshine » Wed Jan 09, 2019 11:48 am

Just thought I’d share my 3” reduced bokka build that I’ve finally got round to doing :handgestures-thumbupleft:
I will make a VM head for it in the future, but this should make me some nice vodka and give me some light rum with all my rum feints . She’s got about 1700 mm of packed section with 5star copper mesh. Vented at the top and brass fittings tinned and also set up so copper pipe pulls up hard into the staino needle valve and should not come into contact with the brass fittings any way. Still have to insulate the column and boiler and put in a 4” glass fill port, element ports and drain .Condenser has a 1” cold finger and a double 3/8” coil at 260 mm long which should to the job and deflector to stop reflux liquid from going straight down the centre and missing the collection cup.

Cheers guys :handgestures-thumbupleft:
The boiler once belonged to Mac, who was kind enough to pass it on to me at a great price

Hey bayshine nice looking still you have there.
Just wondering if you would have a link for the needle the valve you have used and what fittings you have used either side of it?
Thanks

Hey mate, I’m away at work atm but I’m pretty sure it’s a hoke instrument air valve, but i didn’t buy it as my work kindly donated it (cough). The top fitting is just a cut down bsp nipple with the 1/4 “ copper tube running through the length of the fitting , then filled completely with soft solder to take up the size differences. The bottom fitting is just 1/2” olive (copper) with the pipe going through enough so it pulls hard into the internal face of the valve :handgestures-thumbupleft:
