Filling copper tube with wax

Hi, just wanted to share my first attempt at putting wax in a length of 1/2 inch copper. I used soy candle wax as it has a low melting (and its what i had). so i can heat it easily high above that, and it takes more time to set. also its softer and not so brittle.

I had it running down hill warmed in the sun, with the bottom sealed. Pouring it in was held up by the air coming back out.

Next time i might try to keep both ends open, and suspend each at the same height, this way the air can escape the other end, and i can fill at no restriction, also it can be filled from both ends.

Also one could consider running a torch along the pipe to pre-heat the pipe further.

I've heard salt does the same thing.

I think if you take your time and try not to bend too sharp you'll be fine without anything in the tube. I did a double coil in a 2" for my boka without too much trouble.

And remember if you work it too many times the copper will harden and may need reheating to annel it again.

hey it worked fine after all, wax all the way the the end, no kinks, easily removed after about 10 mins in oven
