First VM build

Postby Twat » Wed Aug 15, 2012 6:31 pm

Think I might have worked out the picture upload thing so here is the start of my VM build.
Making two separate stills, one a dedicated stripper and pot still on gas and the other (inverted keg) Vodka VM on power.
VM head design borrowed heavily from Mini and Myles on AD :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Not sure whether to go 1 inch tee or 2 inch tee in the VM head (opinions please)
Kegs are currently with the welder receiving 4inch ferrules and 2 inch fill ports
Column will be 4>3 reducer at the keg with a 3 inch column in 3 sections (1000mm, 500mm, 500mm)
Condenser will be 2 inch shotgun

Thought I might also share a few things I have discovered since starting this build
* 2 kegs is never enough
* Stainless fittings will breed if left unsupervised on the workbench
* I may have a stainless addiction
* I can not make my drill variable speed simply by leaning harder on it
* I should not take the safety cover off the angle grinder to use the last bit of cut off wheel
* I can not weild an angle grinder one handed
* I can not cut the rim from a beer keg while holding it between my knees and still expect to have children in the future
