Large Temp Fluxuations

Postby Stu » Mon Sep 24, 2012 3:25 pm

Hey, im using a still spirits reflux still, did the first run today and was having some pretty extreme temperature fluxuations. I would bring the temp up to about 75-78 degrees very slowly, then would have a sudden spurt of disstilate and a temp drop to anywhere between 50-60 degrees. Now im guessing this isn't normal, any clues as to what im doing wrong?

Cheers

Very hard to say with the imfo provided or seeing the out put but a wild guess is it might be puking or part puking up into the condenser or where ever the thermometer is located

How are you controlling the coolant?

These rigs are a bit fiddly.
