Postby twojaythomo » Mon Jul 28, 2014 7:54 pm

Hey all just out of interest whats everyones thoughts on a cross flow shottie for my boka/VM build, was trying to save on height it will be 2.5" X 440mm with 7 X 12.5mm tubes, it's gotta be more efficent then my other coil.

If your existing coil can fully condense the maximum vapour from your boiler then it is probably efficient enough and you could re-use it in the hammerhead .

Another option is to slant the condenser maybe not so exagerated as below but get the idea .....coil not drawn for clarity

equipment: Did use Still Spirits Reflux
Now use 50l Keg with Pot head for Rum and Neutral stripping runs on gas .
LM/VM head with 1m packed 2" on Still Spirits boiler for Neutrals.

I went to the scrap yard yesterday being 50 minutes drive I got enough spare copper I will not be going back so I have heaps for a shottie anyway, but if I can't get it to seal I will go with the coil.

Didn't even cross my mind to reuse the coil, shotgun condenser sounds better when I tell my mates anyway :D
