Boka Advantages

Postby jacobraven » Thu Jun 25, 2015 8:53 am

Ok so im mid way through building my pot still and ive seen the boka hype im still going to have a separate pot still and reflux but.. what is the advantages of going boka over my current reflux

Image

Im thinking of cutting it down the middle and adding a 1 meter piece in the middle and solder pressure joins over it.

But i already get 94~% now would it be quicker run time?

I know id have more packing but i already make a fine tpw neutral.

2000w element on 25 litre boiler all stainless.

Maybe remove the plastic on your collection pipe :handgestures-thumbupleft:

If you add 1m it will be a higher purity, may even reach azeo. Wont affect speed. if you want to go faster your column needs to be wider
Width = speed
height = purity and higher ABV

as for bokas, i haven't run or owned one so i cant comment there. I dont know their advantages over another reflux still with the same amount of packing, column height and width as well as same power. I would like to know this also :handgestures-thumbupleft:

yes but i was trying to figure out why people are building ceiling hugging bokas when i get 95% from mine

i assumed it was for speed but its not. That is why i was asking for the adv.

also if some day i was to get a plate bubbler wouldnt going from a 2inch keg to a 4inch still be counter productive cause of the bottleneck?
