Started on my boka today.
3mtrs of 1/4" made into a coil. Did a heap of reading, and in the end just went for it. No salt/sugar or ice in the tube and I am very happy with the first attempt :handgestures-thumbupleft:
I am picking up afew meters of 2" copper pipe from a friend this weekend.
I have some bits and pieces on the way from Mac @ 5 Star for my boiler build too.

Cap is on, yes it also has a 6mm vent hole drilled.
Need to figure out a way to get garden hose fittings onto this 1/4" pipe now.

Just waiting to pickup the 2" pipe this weekend from my friend

go to a hose shop or similar (not bunnings - didn't have it in our shop) and get a brass 1/4 olive to 1/2 or 3/4 if possible male. i found 1/2inch first so then bought 1/2 to 3/4 adaptors for the hose

Or you can pick up brass hose nipples and just solder them on, I counter bored one that was giving me trouble on my lil pot build :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You can get a brass joiner and cut it in half for 2 hose connectors.
If you are going to have your hose connectors up the top there I would make the tails a bit longer and have them pointing down so the hose hangs vertically and wont want to kink.
I was going to have mine like that but then I changed my mind and put a couple of long flexible connector hoses, (the stainless braided ones) to bring them down to a more comfortable height.
Nice work though. Looks great
Cheers Phil

Thanks for the advice mate, the brass joiner sounds like a plan. And yeah, I do intend to bend them down if I can.

Thankfully, once filed down and sanded it looks allright. I could sand more, but it's not really something to show all your house guests...

Start of the easy flange.

Great work mate!! I am always amazed at the work involved in these. I really wouldn't know where to start but seeing these posts makes me want to go get a work bench, a torch, some solder and a load of copper pipe!!

This is my first go at it mate, no work bench and very minimal tools apart from the MAPP torch and solder.

Realizing it's going to be big...

Current status: awaiting on parts shipment.
I did try and do my easy flange's - but only had soft solder available to me, and it doesn't work very well. As per my post here:
