Its not quite finished i still have to insulate the column, solder on some hose connectors for the product cooler, solder in a brace for the product cooler and I want to cut it just below the slant plates so i can push the packing in and out easier. Oh and my voltage controller arrived the other day so have to wire that up.

The column is 1.5M packed section and im using copper mesh and stainless scrubbers. the coil is 1/4 double coil with cold finger. take off is 3/8. (i would never use 3/8 again cause the fittings are a prick to find an expensive) Element is a keg king one that i had for brewing beer.

Ive only ran it in pot mode last weekend after a vinegar run as i didnt have the product cooler finished and had a TPW that needed to come out of the fermenters.

Everything went well, no leaks, time to make some netural.

I just got a hold of 2 meters of 4inch pipe last weekend so the next build is a bubbler.

I ran it in pot mode cause I had to strip a TPW that had finished fermenting three weeks ago. I didn't have the product cooler attached so I'm not sure what the actual ABV was but it started at about 80% and stayed there till about 3 litres into the run then it slowly dropped off to 20% after about 9L of spirit. I'll rerun it again now I have finished.
I got my brothers bucks day today so I can't do it this weekend. I'm tipping I'll have a real sore head tomorrow.

Finally got a chance to run the boka. I was able to get a steady take off rate (I didn't measure it) a constant stream of 95%
It still took about 7 hours to get just over 5L of spirits tho. If I slowed it down I could hit 96% but what's the point

Not too keen on continuing with neutral spirits tho (i don't like vodka)I bought a few different bourbon and scotch essences and I was very disappointed. Tasted like shit.

You can obviously run the Boka in pot mode, but with that 4" you've got there I'd be gettin stuck into a bubbler build! The 2" from the Boka will make a good PC and bubble caps :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yep thats the plan Zak. I brewed a batch of beer while i was running the boka on Sunday and used the left over grains to make a slap dash whiskey wash to run through the boka in pot mode.
I soaked the left over grains and got about 23 L of malty goodness at 1020, added one kilo of dry malt extract and some sugar to bring it up to about 1070. cooled it down and pitched about 60grams of bakers yeast (thats all I had) Should be ok I hope. ill pop some oak dominoes in a glass jar and hope for the best.

Problem is i am gonna have to sell the Boka to pay for the bubbler build, So i am going to have to buy some more 2 inch anyway so might just knock up a little pot still to get me by until the bubbler is finished
