Something simple for stripping flavour

Postby bluc » Mon Mar 21, 2016 6:38 pm

Looking for people's opinion on a simple reflux to strip majority of flavour from failed recipes, I have some notes of bran oil and soapy dishwashing liquid flavour from some failed rum experiments.

Thinking 500-600mm packed section and a 100-150mm deflag. Also since the pipe is copper can I use stainless scrubbers? Just going to use my pot head and leiberg for the product condenser.

Not interested in high proof or perfect neutral just something to strip most of the flavour from failed experiments..

So your asking how to build an average reflux still? :think:

Your on the money if that's your aim, a short packed column and a fiddly CM condenser :laughing-rolling:

Seriously though, unless your using plates don't worry about a CM design go the LM or VM :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Would like the challenge of building the cm shotty just wondering if the measurements are correct. 8-}
And if it would do what I want. Really don't have headroom for full size reflux colum..

Ive tried that before, carbon filtering didnt strip it and i used an ez filter. colour stayed too.

Yes some flavour will go, but minimal
