Today's Run is ....

Postby MacStill » Sat Sep 20, 2014 7:36 pm

I'm in the final stages of developing a tried & proven lemon vodka recipe running through 4 plates, if this one's as good as the last few I'll share the recipe in the tried & proven section :handgestures-thumbupleft:

This gear never lasts long, the ladies love it, but for the fella's neat on a block or two of ice it's sensational as a beer chaser :happy-partydance:

So who's running what today ?

Finally got around to stripping the first batch of my 200ltr TPW :D
It's to be earmarked for various occasional drinks and drinks for friends, like kahlua type things etc. Also must have a crack at infamous Strawberry panty dropper, because that's always a good thing 8-)
Maybe some gin as well is things come together.

Ran 45l of barley single malt today.. Got a bit nervous when the wash rose slightly above the first plate! All was good though, just turned down the heat a tad and it settled.

Tired now.

Ran two separate stripping runs of TPW, then added to previous low wines and did a spirit run of Great Gin. 12 hours in the shed, listening to the footy while putting down a MacRum wash and trying to stop the leaks in a new barrel I picked up recently.

All done in a 20ltr HBS boiler :-x

Desperately waiting for the new boiler to make it to Macs, so I can get it here. :confusion-waiting:

Still have finished stripping runs to do, but no stamina left.

Distillers privilege of this gear would seem ducks nuts as a desirable characteristic, this gear is fucking like drinking warm velvet with a hint of lemon :scared-eek:

I'm overdoing it though, cant put the stuff to rest, middle jar is just tooooooo goooooooood mmmmmmm mmmmmmmm :obscene-drinkingdrunk:

Ran with the "Great Gin" recipe today, had 9 liters of 90% TPW which I diluted down to about 25% then ran with twice the ingredients (probably should have tripled??). Ran it with 6 plates and a packed section jam packed with copper. Ran nice and slow pulling 94% for most of the run, got about 7 liters (segregated about 150ml of fores). Will let it all air for 2-3 days and then blend back together. I have no idea on how to blend?? all the cut jars smell different. Have them in 300ml cuts. A good day :)

Yeah thanks Bushy... I keep hearing about these 'bubblers', I reckon it'd take me bloody years to build one though :teasing-neener:
