The pic was taken when it was at 20deg, sorry no pic. (had to put it in the fridge to bring it down from 35deg)
It can’t possibly be any higher than Azeo so it is proof my dodge Chinese meter is out by about 4%

Well if it was that far out at the upper end of the scale it wasn't worth keeping anyway.

Not sure where to put it so here seemed the place. Roll out the barrel is under new ownership. I ordered a barrel last august never heard peep chased it up twice till today new owner asked me if I still wanted a barrel.

Well no much in the shed this morning but at work got told I had to machine up poly urethane for some bush's before I went home. Now as it's Friday we knock off work at 12pm for the 38 hour week. The lump of fresh made stuff rocked up at 10am so it was all on to get it finished before knockoff.

Anyway this where the shed comes in as I reckon that poly urethane would make excellent bladders in a diaphragm pump. So while roughing down the plastic in the lathe I put on 3mm facing cuts and ended up with 10 off 145mm diameter disks. On measuring them up they range for 2mm to 3.5mm thick so they should be strong enough to use.

I have been thinking for years about these pumps as they are self priming and can even be used a poor mans vacuum :laughing-rolling: and they do look like the easiest pumps to make.

Well had a look around the shed and found nothing really suitable so decide to start hammering some 35x6 mm plate around my homemade railway anvil. Went for a 120mm ID and got it all hammered up but theres no way I'm going to arc weld the seam wearing thongs :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

Anyway making a pump out of steel may have the naysayers saying it will rust you dickhead :violence-smack: but i'm sure a few coats of 2 part epoxy paint or even just fiber-glassing the internals will stop the corrosion easily enough. :laughing-rolling:

Last weekend i gave the shed battery a good hammering welding up the 2 ovens on this 150 year old woodfire i scored off a job, and i do know it's an old bugger as i found a 1898 penny in it when i stripped it. The cast iron burner part is still good nic but all the rest needs replacing with steel. The idea for this wood stove is for my wifes shed but when she saw it together the suggestion was lets put it in the house where we can use the wet back like you say to warm the floor of the house and be hooked to the hot water system via the tempering valve.

The job for this pump is too pump water from that dam behind my shed which will provide water to the header tank and water troughs in the front paddocks and it will be powered by a 44 gal drum HAWT which when the wind is blowing those 44 gal drums will provide the torque to pump the water around the farm.

The beauty about these pumps are they are bullet proof and being a positive displacement pump there is no worry about suction and head and I do need but a vacuum gauge so I can test and this pump sucking :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling: :laughing-rolling:

Now I did sample all of my wares before starting this project just to get on the right plane of thought then settled on the apple ciders which is where the hammering started and yes it would of been quicker if I made up that forge/melting kiln. That is another project and I may share it the mod's agree.
