Sending Alcohol via Post

Postby gazzat » Tue Jan 28, 2020 9:35 am

Hi All,

I spend most of my time away from home working interstate. I would love to have some of my stuff when I am away. Has any one ever sent any of there goods by aussie post before ?

Thanks

I haven't sent mine but I have sent bottles of alcohol numerous times. AusPost have wine boxes with suitable packing. No issues

I've sent 2 x 700ml bottles from Melbourne to Perth for Christmas. Australia post have boxes designed to send wine and my bottles conveniently fit in these parcels.

As for sending a 5l demijohn this would be a different story. I'm not sure how you would go about that. It wound be pricey with Australia post and you would want to be sure with your packaging

All good through Australia in 750mill bottles, forget about sending it overseas...well...the US anyways...Maybe someone clever can figure out how to get it in...but not me. P.S..don't send anything over 50%...that's a fire hazard.....

Ah righto if you want that much it might be a bit tricky. Nothing saying you can't have 7 x 700ml bottles in a suitcase?

couple of stainless steel growlers and courier if wanting more than 2X 750ml at a time
Aus post do singles or doubles packaging in the 750ml sizes

The double packaging are apparently being discontinued by auspost and they are selling out existing stock only. They are continuing with the single bottle packaging

An alcoholic beverage is classified as a Class 3 flammable liquid if it:
• is an aqueous solution containing more than 24% alcohol by volume.

That's why they are called Wine Paks.
