Hi Wellsy
For future planning - have a look at Wineo's sugar wash. That might work for you.

After that slight diversion - back to playing with images and labels.

Nice labels Carol. I like the use of Mark Ryden's "Veil of Bees" for the honey vodka.

Thanks Professor. Image came from Pinterest link that turned up on email. A friend has hives and loves his bees so this was a one off just for him. I love that picture though.

Love, love, love the labels Carol! You are so creative with both labels and flavours. I'm in awe!

I've thought about custom labels for a while but thought I was going too far (my mates would totally bag me out, but expect nothing less from me!)... and then I stumbled across this thread. I'm not producing anything worthy (yet!!!) but love the idea of creative, arty labels for when I gift my produce on to my favourite humans.

Do you print at home or order online? If at home, what stock do you print them on?

Keep sharing pics! Bloody awesome.

Hi Ranga

I use Beerlabelizer for my labels - about $8US to use forever! Well worth the money. You can make personalised labels for friends and family quite easily. Just google to find it. They are in New Zealand but charge in US$. I print them at home with my laser printer on ordinary printer paper and stick them on with milk! Brush the back of the label with full cream milk and it sticks on well. Washes off easily too so you can resuse the bottle if you want to. If you have an inkjet printer you probably need to use a glue stick as milk might make the ink run. Cheap to do but heaps of fun!

Cheers

Thanks for the info Carol.

Yeah, I only have inkjet so might give the glue a go. I may have some spray on adhesive - that might work. I have a very well stocked art/craft supplies cupboard so I'll experiment in between still runs!

You want something that will come off easily if you are going to resusse the bottles. If they are a one-off for some occasion then it won;t matter what you stick it on with.

Carol, you are an absolute creative genius! I gave this a go with great success. Milk hey… who would have thought.

I haven’t fancied my labels up yet. Just thought I’d experiment with plain printed text. I was amazed at how well it works. Brushed on lightly, it doesn't bleed through the paper and dries really well. Just like a bought one!

Thanks for the sharing another of your great tips!

Cheers,
RR

Hi RR I can't take the credit for the milk tip - Beerlabelizer has it on the website! I keep a very small jar of milk in the fridge just for labels and replace it when it gets yukky.
