I havent even done a spirit run on this and I have already sourced 2.2m of 3inch 8-}
So I was wondering if this would work

I like the idea of being able to pull it apart if need be.

What size is the outlet/needle valve on the 2" Boka head? You'll probably want to upgrade to 3/8"

Other than that, I can't really see why it wouldn't work? Might be a good/easy way for blokes running 2" rigs to upgrade to something a little faster without building a new coil/slant plates etc.

outlet is already 3/8" :handgestures-thumbupleft: :D

i guess my two biggest concerns were

1. the easy flanges on the reducers. will this mate up with the easy flanges on the keg and existing condenser head?
2. Am i losing the benefits of going 3" with the reducers there?

Cheers

running the 2" boka today. the boiler has 45l of low wines at 30% (buggered up the dilution).
currently it is sitting at 95.4% temp corrected and coming out at about 1.2-1.5L/hr. This seems fast!!(for a 2inch boka) Temp is stable at 78.0.

I have been gradually increasing the collection rate to get to takeoff rate that will move the temp, not there yet.

Should I be pushing the collection rate or leave it as is?

If the ABV is holding steady and the temp is stable then it's happy, you could push it to find your limit but if your happy with the off take then I would leave it, sometimes the rushed ones don't come out as good ;-)

Cheers mate.

ABV and temp were steady. I have just had to back the heat off a little. Noticed a dip in the temp at top and water boiling sound...i assume it was flooded. Closed the valve and knocked back the power. Refluxed for 10min and its back to a stable 78.0deg.

Sound like someones having fun

I have flooded every column I have ever owned at some point
Its great to know the limits although experience will tell me that good flavour is nowhere near the rigs limits

For my 2" rig I tended to run about 85% of the power it took to flood

Awesome fun. Haha its creeping along.
After this run I'm am going to cut up the 2inch section and use the easy flanges on the 3inch copper with some reducers and make a 2inch shotty for my pot still

The run ended up taking 14hrs :handgestures-thumbdown:
At the end the temp started to spike by 0.2deg and the taste was starting to get a little off/funky. I restabilised it twice but marked those jars and didnt end up keeping them anyway.
Ended up with about 9L of the good stuff at 95% (the still just wanted to sit at 95%).
The cuts were a lot easier with this than on the t500.

So next steps are 2inch shotty for my pot still and 3inch packed section.

Interest is definitely there. But at the moment finances don't allow for it :crying-blue:
It's cost me $50 for the pipe and reducers to go up to 3inch.

put together the 3inch column over the last week. just running a vinegar run now. the condensor is still able to knock down all the vapours :D.
It seems the vinegar run is coming out a lot faster than i remember on the 2inch
once that is done i have a heap of feints lined up to run through it.

Then the plan is to 50-60 spirit run on 40%, how long do your reckon that will take? The last run i did was on the 2inch and it was 45L at 30% and i was getting about 1.2-1.5l/hr
