For what its worth, I only used one 805g box for ~20 litre wash with 5 kg of white sugar. I racked 16 odd litres into a bucket, cleaned the fermenter and poured the 16 litres back in and sealed it as I knew I wasn't going to be able to run it through the still for another week. It sat on the bench for a week and when I ran it got 700ml at ~62% through the air still that turned into a litre @~45% It was noticeably more flavoursome and aromatic before bottling with bourbon barrel woodchips in the bottle for 10 days.
The best bit is this batch has got way better flavour than the previous batches which were already pretty damn good. Needless to say the next batch will be sitting on the bench for a week after racking and see if I get the same result. A bit like brewing beer, maybe sometimes you just get lucky, but worth trying to repeat these things and share it.
