Right forget what I wrote in my intro does anyone know where you can get stainless steel 44 gallon drums from in Vic.

this mob is in NSW but be prepared to pay big $$$ with them ... put stainless drum in their search thing

ask around at scrap dealers, drum / chemical cleaning / disposal places etc they are out there but not many around

ebay if your lucky


i wonder how much these are ?

yeah guess I'll have to do the foot work .back in SA wineries used them for ppl buying bulk fortifieds ya payed a deposit which you got back when ya returned it but over here fucked if i know plus they might be somewhat reluctant to let ya have it empty (penny might drop they ain't getting it back) might look down Horsham while I'm there on the weekend scrapyards here seem to crush everything the second they get it :roll:

take in a "wanted" bit of paper for them to stick to the wall at the scraper maybe ? so they see it every day
maybe work out a price up front on a good one etc ?

they love to make a easy $$ so they might call you

I see there's some turkey in Adelaide has a heap(more than 10) on ebay but ya want to see em RAF had paint dye in em and on top he's dreaming for $150 a pop , good luck buddy all I can say :roll:

(might have been fuel tank stuff?)

This 5lt demejohn business is pissing me off it's f'ing logistics nightmare....not for bulk reason but just plain long term storage.

How about a couple of the 23L Carboys, or even the larger ones. If you look carefully, you can find them fairly cheap, I picked mine up for $50, at least they are easy to move around, well fairly easy.

yeah been looking . This one gut had 5 for sale for $250 but ya had to buy the lot . Was talking to the son of the local winery owner today , winery is closed as the bloke is retiring . so I asked him about barrels , vats , ss storage he said alot has been sold to other wineries but there's still gear there . I'll give him a ring tomorrow , its spitting distance from here
