:teasing-tease: Ok I may be a bit over the top here, but I am a fan of Teddys FFV, I believe it does give a cleaner vodka (than tpw) with a slight "wheaty" taste which I think is a great starting base , I am still on training wheels for the bubbler and I have only done one bubbler run on the Teddys and the flavour carryover on the bubbler was too strong for me, I reckon it needed a double run ( I just ran a macrum one run and it felt much better and controlled and flavour is awesome ,so I am getting there quick)
the Teddys I had was run through the t500 in a spirit run came out at 94% and before moving house I thought I would test some on oak and I was surprised!
What I did;
Teddy's @ 94% spirit run through t500
4.5 litres spirit in demijohn
April 2016 put it away on 400gm French oak
94% is high but it was an experiment I wanted to do something different!
So I am running low on aged product and spotted it and thought I would give it a go, so I poured the usual measure in without checking ABV! and got walloped not badly but I new it was strong I copped a real sweet hit like vanilla, before it settled down while pouring more coke in to bring it back to normal anyway it wasn't terrible I would describe it as "scotchy" and sweet it lacked guts I think toasted may have helped it. I know the originator "teddysad" had tried oak and said he thought it wasn't worth it, but it is not anywhere near an aged Bwko, but I think it did make a drink that is worthy of putting coke in, anyway just thought I would let you know how it went :handgestures-thumbupleft:
