Dan's Bubbler

Postby dans.brew » Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:11 pm

And we're off and running... well maybe a slow jog... honestly really only a walk/dawdle!
After reading quite a few other builds it good to be started my own finally. I plan on building a 4" modular bubbler at this stage.

I only have limited copper atm so i couldn't get into much. I did however have enough to make my 4 x 50mm bubble caps and 19mm risers. Not too bad for a arvos work.

Stupid photo aint playing the game! :-B

Mate great work. I’ve been slowly plugging away since about last sept and the only completely finished part is the outlet from the PC. You will get there with patience & perseverance. It’ll be fantastic.

Good on ya mate, building is great fun and gives you a great sence of accomplishment :handgestures-thumbupleft:

You said 19mm risers, I hope that was a typo cause 19mm is way too small for a 50mm cap. They look like downcomers to me which I'm sure they are :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Good luck with the build mate, I'll be watching with interest.

Yeah my bad... was suppose to be 19mm downcomers. 8-} Plan on running 38mm risers.

Just got in from the shed. :greetings-waveyellow:
Managed to get a couple hours to do a bit since i got some copper from the plumber the other day. Got my 140mm T pieces cut up and a 100mm RC. That didnt take long with the good old paper around the pipe trick... so what hell, may as well have a crack at starting my easy flanges. Hadn't done one before but I'm stoked with how my first 2 turned out! :happy-partydance:

So i got a bit more done yesterdy. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Got a few more flares done... just need some 1/4 copper pipe to finish them off.
20180216_215329.jpg

I made a fair start on my RC, just need to stick it together really. Was a time consuming job getting the holes drilled and all in the right place.
20180217_000432.jpg

To get them close i ended up marking all the holes out on one plate and drilled them using a small bit. Then i used that plate to mark out the rest.

I individually drilled all the holes a bit smaller than needed before putting them together to send the final 3/4 inch bit through all at once. That way if one hole was out of line a bit all 3 in a row would be the same. Probably just :teasing-blah: :teasing-blah: :teasing-blah: , but i thought it might help someone out!

I put a pair of 1/2” nipples on my PC & have a set of 1/2” nipples for the RC. Don’t forget to drill the holes for the outlets before soldering the guts into you RC.

Yeah thanks A&O
Did read that valuable advice somewhere a while ago. It would shit you to tears if you put a hole in the RC pipes while drilling.

Thats the best part of everyone posting their builds. Even if it is trivial stuff in your eyes... you can just about be sure you saved someone else some heartache. Those extra details are the most helpful ones... and a heap of pics for sure. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
