Can you imagine what it must be like to be in sales
RuddyCrazy wrote:Well the Laborhire mob said they had a backup for me and said the company is very keen to talk to me then next thing I knew they had arranged an interview the next day. So last Friday I went down the hill for a chat got told the job and I said no worries mate it's been 20 years since I worked on side tippers and I wouldn't mind getting back into it. So he said OK mate start Monday 7am to 5pm everyday thru the week and 6am to 12pm Saturday if you want to work it. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
So the first job is lining the side tippers with 6mm hardox plate and I did the first one in 2 and half days, they did send one out to be done and I was told it taking them 4 days with 2 welders. I said sheesh if I took 8 days to do that job I would be out the door pronto :laughing-rolling: where I got told you aint going anywhere mate and that first one you did has the top office over the moon :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Anyway on Tuesday got the 'letter of offer' and for the wages it read
single time $38
time and a half $40
double time $42
I can do 3M speedglass adflo for cheaper that that.
So at lunch time I rang my contact and said this is Pauline Hanson now bloody please explain :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft: saying also I hope this is a typo. :teasing-neener: I got told what did I do and I will get on and fix it now where I replied Becky take that blonde wig off and stop doing the typos as it is doing my head in :laughing-rolling:
About half an hour later got another "letter of offer" where for the first time working for this laborhire mob they are paying the full penalty rates, so now it reads
Single time $38
time and a half $58
Double time $76
Now the working week is based on a 38 hour week and everything else is overtime :handgestures-thumbupleft: so in for a nice pay packet this week :handgestures-thumbupleft: I did get talking with my boss about fulltime and asked what they paid where I got told a tier 1 is $34 an hour where I said mate I'm a dual tradie and he replied yea mate I'm going to try and get you north of $40 an hour :handgestures-thumbupleft:
So as far as that Victor job goes they can stick it as the fumes of that flux core inconel will cause cancer if one takes one breath of it. I did ask well as this job has so much risk would they pay for a positive flow welding helmut where I got told no you can buy your own. @ 2.5K for a good one no thanks.
This job is only a 45 minute drive from home and I am settling in well so hopefully this job is a keeper :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Cheers Bryan
