questions after sacrificial run

Postby Royalwulf » Mon Sep 27, 2021 6:51 pm

Yesterday i did my sacrificial cleaning run from a TPW.
I had made 25 litres of wash. There was lots of rubbish in the bottom so i am not sure how much i transfered to my boiler.

I got 4.7l alcohol before it reached 97 degrees and i stopped.
This took 4.5 hours from start to finish.

I haven't always got 4.5 hour slot to do this so my question is, if i run half as much and do it over two nights will it take half the time per night?
It was a cold day - had hail, does that affect time taken? I was in the garage with doors open.

Also i burnt the bottom of the boiler (not a lot), was that because it wasn't complete clear before i started? I should have left it a few more days?

It was very tempting to taste but it was a cleaning run so i didn't.

Cheers,

Yes you can split it. 4.5hrs seems bout right.
Let the wash settle and drain off top leaving the solids behind that is what would have scorched.
