tallie bottle for storage and aging.

Postby Danish » Sat Sep 06, 2014 2:53 pm

hello everyone

since i've had a good offer to buy a whole stack of talllie beer bottle, i thought i better ask in here first.

I know everyone says glass, glass, glass and glass, i should be okey to use the bottles since they are glass. But wheta about the standard beer bottle tops, are they also okey to use for spirits ?

i know it's a open one time only, but it was mainly for storing spirits while it's aging/resting.

cheers

There was a bit of discussion on this recently... I'd use the bottles with a good quality wine cork instead of the lid ;-)

+1 the seals are spec'd for much lower abv's... the shite still goes soft/melts and imparts a nice rubber/plastic taste that would suit a lego brick only.

+3

try a test with a tally lid in a shot glass of ethanol for a few days, reckon you'll soon see why the guys are saying go for corks instead :handgestures-thumbupleft:
