Hop Vodka

Postby Hill » Thu Jan 31, 2013 11:49 am

Was listening to The Brewing Network the other day and the guys from Anchor Brewery are distilling as well and had a Hop vodka, they didn't give away much but what i did get was they mashed malted barley and cracked corn, they used more than 1 Americian hop variety. They didn't say where they used the hops but said they had to play around with it quite a few times before they got it right.

Sounds interesting, might have to give it a go.

Any ideas

Interesting if they got the hop flavour to come through and not the malt

The hops must carry over more?

Has anyone ran a hoppy beer through a reflux?

that would be quite an interesting drink. There are some seriously nice hop flavours.

Maybe soaking your diluting water in hops would work.

I ran a tooheys lager with KEN and half a hop tablet through my pot when's first started cause I had no wash and was excited lol. A little hop came through but was more malty than anything.
