Just a note of thanks to Blond if I could.

tracked down the distributor of molasses to Gobles...he gave me a great 10 minute chat on his molasses and who he supplies...he's the main guru for SA...Stockmol.
A couple of notes here..
No sulphur...certified organic
Short lead time direct from Mill

btw he sells 200lt+drums for $165 plus gst if your real keen.

Went to a local fodder place he recommended picked up 20lt for $32.95...nice...

We tried it late Saturday...had the typical slow start but did fire...what a fucking bonus... both are plodding along not belting by any means but it's the first stock grade we've got to fire out of 5 -6 attempts with different supplies.

happy... at fuckin last! I now have a feel for why some guys have success and prefer stock grade...

Rum on.. well it something to make between good Irish whiskys...

Post the addy and contacts bt1!

I remember blond said if asked why you're buying so much molasses you say "my new girlfriend has horses"...if they ask what kind you say "how the fuck should I know? They're her horses, I'm just getting the feed".

Here's the smaller volume fodder place we got it from...

Globe Derby Poultry Grain And Stock Feed
13 Whites Rd
(08) 8281 2011

they have about 2 -3 20lt pre done or it comes off the drum at the back of the shop...and yes I did ask how fresh it was etc cos growing tied of bloody experiments with bloody rums..

Stockmol is at North Haven in White Pages if your after a 200lt drum....bloody cheap btw...once we know what it's like tastes like might do some bulk SA buys.. $.91 cents a Lt...fuck me that's good.

Howdy,

rum both the rums yesterday the stock grade one a few posts earlier. It's come up a treat actually, despite some reservations on stock grade. It was a fairly high abv run for a hybrid pot, no dips in abv, avg at about est. 88 for whole run with just under 4.5lt... had the time for a change so run slowly has paid off here.

Centre cut is a nice flavoursome drop and it has that "vegemite/strong rum" distinct smell increasing to the tails cut jars.

More than happy finally can join this stock grade users group.

House mate

uses burnt brown sugar caramels to great effect...try a few sub batches for a self test it adds the colour and distinctive taste he says closer to Bundy
