Bye bye T500 Pot still, hello...

Just another reason why FSD gear is so good!

Only needed to buy the short piece of 2" TC pipe to put this together using some of my neutraliser bits. Better than Lego!

I tried other configurations before I added the extra piece of pipe but found the boiler wanted to tip over due to all the weight being on one side whereas this is nice and stable.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Thanks guys.

It was indeed inspired by one of the swan/pelican builds I saw here.

I will be truly happy with it when I can find some time to run the damned thing. At the rate things are going that won't be until Easter.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Indeed! The T500 pot is OK, don't get me wrong; it does what it is advertised to do but it just wasn't for me. I tend to want the best of everything and well, you know, FSD...

I ended up giving T500 pot AND the T500 copper column to a mate as they are both much better that what he currently uses.

Non in that exact configuration. I ran some hazelnut schnapps a number of weeks ago in an almost identical set up (without the 150mm section) which is how I discovered how easy it was to tip over. Had to tie the still to the roof beam of the shed with some rope to stabilise it before I could run it.

The hazelnut schnapps turned out crap too. Bit of a shame really as the maceration smelled amazingly good. :angry-banghead:

I'll need to do another absinthe run soon so it'll get a go then. Have to some macrum out of the way first.

You're not wrong mate, modularity is THE way to go and FSD gear is, without doubt, the mutts nuts. Having said that, I reckon the copper porn that pops up here from time to time is amazing too.

Just wondered if you done a run through it now, and how it came out?

I ask, because I am thinking about replicating it!
