Being a premix bottle, I think the seal will be some kind of plastic so I wouldn't trust it.
You could pull that seal out and replace it with one made out of silicon though. I'm sure there are threads around discussing making your own silicon seals.
Probably easier to get some new spirit bottles from the HBS or ask your mates to keep you some of their empty spirit bottles.
Yeah wasn't sure about the lids. just wanted some small bottle for samples/ takeaways.
I also have some 2L Flagons/Growlers but no lids anyone know where I can get some metal ones that don't cost me more in postage than the lids. only places i have seen do plastic ones.
equipment: 2" pot with 2" shotty 400mm long 5x 1/2" on a t500 boiler. 50l keg boiler 4" still mount 4" sight glass 1" drain.. 4 plate 4" bubbler, 600mm packed section
Just be careful cutting silicone. Often the impervious nature of the silicone is based on how it is cured and the resulting surface. But this might only apply to silicone with fillers, not sure about your wine bungs.
Yeah ok might give it a miss for storing in them atm then. Had found another use. The bungs seal it from the dust etc and I just run my tails into them. Tails go into the feints keg so don't need to cap them with alcohol.
I found some spirit bottle lids that fit the glass bottles. The thread is pretty close. If you over tighten it it does go righty loosey but does the job. No leaks
