Has anyone come across this idea before for handling 50L kegs? I thought it looked great.

I used I have the trouble of carting around near full kegs, but now I have a drain valve in the boiler it's not so much if a problem.

Trying to move even half full kegs around can be a big problem in your back though! :naughty:

My back is already knackered so I thought I'd just take a look around and see what ideas where out there.

I'm still planning on getting the keg modified to include a drain.

It is a little bulky but it does the job.

I cut a piece of melamine in half, screwed it together and put 4 casters on it. Only gotta lift the keg 3 inches off the ground and trolley does the rest.

Super jealous of that keg lifting trolley though, that is awesome.

I have bulged l5 and s1, it's shit as.. to move kegs I use a trolley with a strap. does the trick. Otherwise I get my mate to move em lol :shock:

Just in case this helps anyone...

Best thing I ever did was install a drain valve. I have an SS hose barb sticking out of the boiler which I can slide a tube over and run it out to the drain...that way I'm only ever moving empty kegs. Then just give the tube a flush with water immediately :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I just carried the 50 ltr jobbies :handgestures-thumbupleft: , the 18 gal bugger has a drain as that would be to heavy to carry any distance

We've all carried full kegs I'm sure but it fucks your back.
I don't do it alone now..I get a lift from a friend.

As much as plastic safety and electrical safety and don't sell don't tell is high priority so should our backs be ....just sayin..keep the hobbie safe .. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Yeah ok it was a bit tongue and cheek but by the same token I just spent 2 days pushing barrow after barrow of concrete prolly weighing over 200 kgs each 30 odd degrees up a sandy hill about 10 meters so its all relative hey (meaning it would be similar to carrying 500 kegs of beer two at a time ;-) ) :handgestures-thumbupleft:

L5 S1 is my problem as well, "marked disc space narrowing", it can be a real pain in the arse :laughing-rolling: :angry-banghead: :violence-smack:

Yeah it's not ideal but my stilling area is on the other side of the house to my brewing area :handgestures-thumbdown:

Only need to cart it one way full then drain it in place :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Don't worry my next place will be much better equipped ;-)
